Tucked aside from Richmond Road, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral is a beautiful display of yellow brick in Ottawa’s suburbs. A single level podium composes the base of the building, at the front of which are two symmetrical stairs that lead to the second level. The yellow brick is accented with elements painted in a pale blue, as well as engraved concrete details.

The distinct form is one of several religious buildings that service the area on and adjacent to Woodroffe Avenue in Ottawa’s west end.
