As part of the continued growth of the Modern Works section of Capital Modern, we have recently gotten back to a regular schedule of adding new places to the site. Our current goal is to add one new site every two weeks.

Supreme Court of Canada

Completed in 1939 to the designs of Ernest Cormier, the Supreme Court of Canada is the centre-piece of the Judicial Precinct along Wellington Street. While its outward appearance puts it more in the Modern Classical vein of Art Deco, elements found throughout the building and the associated landscaping show tendencies associated with early Modern Architecture in the National Capital Region.
